Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

JV Multimedia, based in the Netherlands, is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. This policy covers the DmxControlPro3 macOS app and the lightning-dmxcontrol.com website.

Data stored on your Mac

DmxControlPro3 stores show projects, cues, fixture settings, media references, preferences and API keys locally on your Mac. Normal use of the app does not upload your projects, cues, media or stage video to JV Multimedia.

The Agent API and video output stream are local-network features. Requests, show-control data and video sent through these features stay between your Mac and clients on your local network; they are not relayed through JV Multimedia servers. You are responsible for access to the local network on which you enable these features.

Optional newsletter registration

Newsletter registration in DmxControlPro3 is optional and is not required to use, purchase or restore the app. If you choose Register and then Subscribe, the app sends the following data to JV Multimedia over HTTPS:

  • the name you enter;
  • the email address you enter; and
  • this Mac's hardware identifier (the macOS IOPlatformUUID).

We use your name and email address to send occasional DmxControlPro product news and to assist with support. We use the hardware identifier to associate the registration with the relevant Mac and for support and entitlement administration. We do not use this information for third-party advertising or tracking, and we do not sell it.

For software distributed outside the Mac App Store, the hardware identifier may also be used to associate a support-issued software entitlement with that Mac. Mac App Store purchases and restores are processed by Apple through StoreKit; JV Multimedia does not receive your payment-card details.

Support communications

If you contact us, we process the contact details, message and technical information you choose to provide so that we can answer your question, investigate a problem and keep a support history where needed.

Website and technical logs

When you visit our website or the app contacts our registration or support endpoints, our hosting systems may process technical data such as IP address, browser or app information, requested URL, date and time, and error information. We use these data only to deliver and secure the service, diagnose errors and prevent abuse.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers such as Google Analytics or the Facebook Pixel. Some pages may link to or embed services such as YouTube or the Mac App Store. If you load or follow that third-party content, the provider's own privacy policy applies.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell personal data and do not share it for third-party advertising. Data may be processed by service providers that host our website or deliver email, but only as needed to provide those services. We require providers with access to personal data to protect it to a level consistent with this policy and applicable law. We may disclose information where required by law.

Retention and deletion

Newsletter and registration data are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, unless a limited part is still needed for an active support or entitlement record, security, dispute handling or a legal obligation. Support records and technical logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. Deleted data may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are rotated.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from product news or withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. You may also ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or request restriction of or object to processing where applicable. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place lawfully.

Send privacy, access or deletion requests to info@jv.nl or use the JV Multimedia contact page. If you believe your request has not been handled correctly, you may complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority or your local supervisory authority.

Security and changes

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted HTTPS transport and restricted administrative access, to protect personal data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy when the app, website or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
